My Wall Gallery

Hello there, friends! Finally, I finished my wall gallery! I've always wanted one. 'Been admiring many walls with those beautiful display of framed artworks, photos, keepsakes, quotes, and anything that's special to the homeowners. I have quite a few of such things in my collection, so I didn't want to buy anything to add to it.  I also had to decide which ones to hang and which ones I had to put aside, it's just a matter of placement, too. Most of these are photos of my family, my mom and dad, (and siblings), caricature of my kids, a  family and friends' fund raiser t-shirt I cut out and framed, a newpaper clipping of when my daughter was on the LA Times, my son's ceramic plate project, a nice cheese plate with our initial "S", an elephant artwork my husband gave me from when he worked in India, the word "family" I cut out with my cricut machine and a couple of frames I put pretty black and white prints in. Oh, and the 4 small plates on top are, well, yes, dessert plates! I liked the design.   I still have a few things I want to hang and display. Maybe I'll make another one, perhaps in my bedroom. We'll see.

Well, I hope you like it. My husband said he'll put recessed lighting or maybe tract lighting. Hmmm...that, I'd  like to see! Okay...thanks for visiting!

Agatha's make-over...

If you guys know me, I'm obsessed with dress/body forms. I don't know why, but I am. I have rubberstamps, diecuts, jewelry holders, prints and I have a decal on a wall in my craft room. On my pinterest boards, I pinned quite a few under: Obsessed. A couple of years ago, I decoupaged a mache, named her Emerald ( my birthstone). A friend of mine who sews beautiful baby blankets bought it from me and I was happy to find her a new home!
So, this time, I had my friend, Kim of Flea Market Divas,  bought one for me at a flea market. I named her Agatha. She's vintage
(I think she's from circa 1930's) she's beautiful, slim and stands about a little over 3 feet. And according to Kim, as told to her by the seller, she was owned by a mortisian. Okay, that's all I know about her "previous life".
So I kinda want to bring her in the 21st century so I thought I'd give her a make over. And voila! I
L O V E D how she turned out!

Deciding what colors I would be using was just one challenge. So, once I decided to do black and white, it was easy! I have beautiful black and white scrapbook pages, and I went to town with mod podge!

Well, I hope you guys liked it too! Write me a line or two, I would appreciate your coments.  Thanks for dropping by. Hope to see you here again some time soon!

Repurposed wine bottles

I love to recycle, upcycle and repurpose. My latest project was something for Mom's day. And being a florist that I am, I turned these bottles into flower vases. Too easy...but pretty, if I may say so.
To remove the labels from these wine bottles, (well, one of these was actually an empty olive oil bottle) I filled a bucket with water, put a little drop of dish washing soap, then soaked the bottles in there for a few days. Make sure you fill the bottles with water, just enough so they don't float on top. After a couple of days, the labels just slide right off. Just rub it a little with a sponge to remove the glue.
Wash the bottles then dry.
I used decorative wire to sort of tie them together, then shaped the word "MOM" to embellish the rectangular planter where I set the four bottles. Finished it off by adding single flowers in each bottle~ tulip, roses and an iris, and a bright yellow gerber daisy in water tube and a beautiful floral display this turned out to be! I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting...and please drop by again soon!

Springtime Bridal Shower arrangement

Sharing these photos of the recent floral arrangement I made for a Bridal Party. The couple met at a nature walk in a park. I sprayed this vintage birdcage yellow to pop against green floral arrangement of cymbidium orchids, fuji mums, and variety of foliage. Pretty butterflies on curly willows add a touch of spring feeling and nature! This floral creation was set on a yellow wooden tray, which was eventually placed by the dessert table at the party.
I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!
