Empty Nest Syndrome

It's a bittersweet time in my (and my husband's) life right now. It's exciting to see our children becoming adults and moving on to the "real world" out there, and yet there's a little sadness that's in our heart as the house feels empty without them at home. I feel like I'm a mama bird who took care of my baby birds from the time they were eggs in the nest, to becoming little birdies, feeding and caring for them and now, these birdies are learning how to fly on their own. But of course, they'll fly back home once in a while.

"Even the widest dreams have to start somewhere. Allow yourself the time and space to let your mind wander and your imagination fly." ~ Oprah

I came across your page from Rosa's flower shop (Classics FB page). Beautifu! too have a creative talent. I enjoyed looking through your pages. AS I was reading your blog about the empty nest syndrome, I felt a bit sad knowing that someday, all my kids will soon be on their own. Although Chad is the only one that has decided to go off to college all four years, Nikko may be moving to San Francisco in the fall--and who knows, Sasha may follow. It seems you have been keeping yourself busy with projects. And I've reconnected with old classmates from high school, so that has been quite an adventure for me. Just preparing I guess for when all my kids leave home.
Take Care and God Bless...
